Parking Correspondence Officer

A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Parking Correspondence Officer to join their busy Parking Services team on an initial 3-6 month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with strong written communication skills and previous experience dealing with customer enquiries, elected member correspondence, and statutory information requests within a public sector environment.
Working in a hybrid arrangement, you will be responsible for managing a variety of parking-related correspondence, ensuring that responses are accurate, professional, and delivered within prescribed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to parking-related correspondence on behalf of the local authority.
- Handle enquiries received from elected Members, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
- Manage and respond to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and other information requests.
- Monitor and process enquiries received through shared service inboxes.
- Investigate cases and gather information from internal departments to prepare comprehensive responses.
- Ensure correspondence complies with relevant legislation, council policies, and service standards.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems accordingly.
- Support the wider Parking Services team with administrative and casework activities as required.
About You
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority, Parking Services, Civil Enforcement, Customer Services, or a similar public sector environment.
- Experience handling complex correspondence and casework.
- Knowledge of parking regulations, parking enforcement processes, or transport-related services would be highly desirable.
- Experience responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Member enquiries.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
