As a Part-Time Financial Accountant in London, you'll play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting for a not for profit and charities organisation. Description

• Lead the annual audit process, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and ensuring all requirements are delivered accurately and on time.
• Take ownership of statutory accounts preparation and year-end reporting.
• Manage all VAT returns and provide expert advice on VAT compliance within a not-for-profit environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, financial, and charity reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and governance requirements.
• Assist with finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Profile

A successful Part-Time Financial Accountant should have:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Excellent knowledge of VAT and regulatory compliance.
• Previous experience within the not-for-profit, charity, education, or public sector environment is advantageous.
• Strong technical accounting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
