An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Head of People to join a growing organisation at a pivotal stage of its development. This newly focused role offers the chance to shape and enhance the people strategy, ensuring the business attracts, develops, and retains the talent required to support its continued growth.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead both strategic and operational people initiatives, driving improvements across recruitment, workforce planning, employee engagement, learning and development, and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Develop and implement an effective recruitment strategy and policy aligned to business objectives.
  • Partner with managers across the organisation to identify and prioritise hiring requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including agency management, job advertising, candidate attraction, and selection processes.
  • Enhance employer branding initiatives to strengthen the organisation's ability to attract high-calibre talent.
HR Systems & Process Improvement
  • Review and optimise the use of the existing HR system to improve efficiency, reporting capabilities, and user engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline people processes and improve data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Produce meaningful people metrics and insights to support decision-making.
Workforce Planning & Development
  • Conduct workforce and skills gap analysis to identify current and future capability requirements.
  • Develop workforce planning strategies to support organisational growth and succession planning.
  • Design and implement learning and development programmes that support employee growth and career progression.
  • Support apprenticeship and development programmes, ensuring participants receive appropriate guidance and development opportunities.
Employee Engagement & Culture
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, feedback mechanisms, and action planning.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee experience, wellbeing, inclusion, and organisational culture.
  • Support leaders in fostering a high-performing and positive working environment.
About You

The successful candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive meaningful people-focused change.

Essential Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior HR, People, or Human Resources leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in recruitment strategy, talent acquisition, and workforce planning.
  • Experience implementing and improving HR systems and people processes.
  • Demonstrable success in learning and development, employee engagement, and organisational development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
