Optometrist (Refractive Experience Required) — Colchester | Part-Time, Fridays
Chapter 2 is recruiting on behalf of our client, Optegra Eye Healthcare, for an experienced Optometrist to join their team in Colchester. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, developing business and benefit from a fully funded training programme. The role is part-time, 9.5 hours per week over one day (Fridays). Refractive experience is essential.

The Role
Working alongside consultants as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out pre- and post-operative consultations and assess patients' suitability for treatment. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out examinations associated with cataract surgery
- Running acute and follow-up post-surgery clinics, documenting findings in the electronic medical record system
- Providing health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
- Providing first-line clinical advice and referring patients to a medical practitioner where appropriate
- Maintaining awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework
- Staying current with CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses
Requirements
- Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist
- Extensive experience as an optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment
- Experience using patient administration and electronic medical record systems
- Experience working to conversion targets and other KPIs within Vision Correction
