Part-Time School Finance Assistant
Location: Clapham, South London
Hours: 14 hours per week
Working Pattern: Spread over 2–3 days per week
Contract: Part-Time

About the RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced School Finance Assistant to join a welcoming school in Clapham on a part-time basis.
The successful candidate will have previous finance experience within a school or education setting and be confident using both SIMS and FMS.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced school finance professional looking for a flexible part-time position within a supportive education environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day finance and administrative support to the school.
  • Processing invoices, purchase orders and payments accurately.
  • Assisting with budget monitoring and financial administration.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices in line with school procedures.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager / School Business Manager with financial tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Processing and reconciling financial transactions.
  • Assisting with supplier queries and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the administration of school income and expenditure.
  • Using FMS to input, process and maintain financial information.
  • Using SIMS to access and update relevant pupil and school information.
  • Assisting with general school administration when required.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring financial and pupil information is handled appropriately.
  • Working in accordance with school policies, financial procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a school or education setting – ESSENTIAL.
  • Previous experience in a school finance role.
  • Confident using FMS – ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience using SIMS – ESSENTIAL.
  • Good understanding of school finance processes and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confident working independently and managing priorities.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff, suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to undergo the required safeguarding checks.
The Ideal CandidateThe school is looking for someone who is reliable, organised and experienced within school finance, who can quickly settle into the role and work confidently with existing systems and processes.
The successful candidate will ideally have a strong understanding of how a school office operates and be comfortable working alongside the Finance Manager, School Business Manager and wider administration team.
