Luma Education Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist SEND college in Leicestershire to recruit a Part-Time SEND Teacher.

This permanent opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), Learning Disabilities (LD) and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN).

Working three days per week, you'll deliver personalised learning that enables students to achieve their EHCP outcomes, develop independence and prepare for adulthood, further learning and employment.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Teach learners with a range of additional needs including Autism, learning disabilities and communication needs.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support learners to develop academic, social, personal and independent living skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to reviews, assessments and EHCP targets.
  • Promote confidence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every learner.
We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from teachers who have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, CertEd or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching or supporting learners with SEND.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and person-centred approaches.
  • Experience working with Autism, SEMH, learning disabilities or communication needs (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education.
  • An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one.
