Are you a compassionate and patient individual with experience supporting young people with Autism or ADHD? Tradewind is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral, starting in September.



About the Role:

This part-time Teaching Assistant position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs. You will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD, helping them to engage positively in lessons and make good progress.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation, focus, and classroom participation

  • Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and learning

  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and the SEN team to monitor progress

  • Contributing to a positive, nurturing classroom environment



What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting students with Autism and/or ADHD (essential)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships

  • Experience within a secondary school setting (preferred but not essential)

  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
