Job Role: Parts Advisor

Location: Taplow, Berkshire

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum + Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Parts Advisor to join a busy, insurance-led Accident Repair Centre in Taplow.

Working within a modern, well-equipped Bodyshop, you will take responsibility for ensuring the correct parts are sourced, ordered, received and distributed efficiently to keep vehicle repairs moving through the workshop.

You will work closely with Estimators, Workshop Controllers, Technicians and suppliers, ensuring parts are available when required while maintaining accurate stock levels, controlling costs and keeping the parts department organised.

This role would suit an experienced Parts Advisor, Automotive Parts Advisor, Parts Person or Parts Assistant with previous experience within an Accident Repair Centre, Bodyshop, dealership or automotive workshop.

The Main Purpose of the Role

• Order vehicle parts efficiently from approved manufacturer and aftermarket suppliers.
• Ensure parts orders are authorised by the Estimator or relevant Line Manager before being processed.
• Check parts availability, pricing and delivery times to support efficient repair scheduling.
• Receive, inspect and accurately check all incoming parts deliveries for quality and correctness.
• Label, organise and distribute parts to the correct repair jobs within the workshop.
• Maintain accurate parts, paint and consumables stock levels and records.
• Process returns, damaged parts and supplier credits where required.
• Place special orders and follow up outstanding orders to minimise delays to repairs.
• Liaise closely with Estimators, Workshop Controllers, Technicians and suppliers.
• Ensure parts are available in line with repair requirements and agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, invoices and parts documentation.
• Assist with stock takes and investigate any discrepancies.
• Monitor and control parts purchasing to ensure cost-effective solutions are achieved.

You Will Have

• Previous experience as a Parts Advisor, Automotive Parts Advisor, Parts Person or Parts Assistant.
• Experience within an Accident Repair Centre, Bodyshop, Main Dealer or Automotive Workshop.
• A good understanding of vehicle parts and the accident repair process.
• Strong knowledge of ordering, receiving and returning vehicle parts.
• The ability to manage multiple parts orders and priorities within a busy workshop.
• Good IT skills and experience using parts or workshop management systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The ability to work accurately and efficiently while working to repair deadlines.
