Pastoral Mentor – (Full-Time)
Location: Ealing, West London
Salary: £500–£520 per week (dependent on experience and/or qualifications) — weekly PAYE pay. Temp to Perm
Start Date: September 2026

The Role
A specialist alternative provision in Ealing is seeking a committed and resilient Pastoral Mentor to work with young people aged 11–16 who are currently outside of mainstream education. Many of the pupils have had contact with the youth justice system or are considered at risk of offending, and require a high level of support to re-engage with learning.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide consistent guidance both in and outside the classroom, supporting students to develop positive behaviours, emotional regulation skills, and a renewed sense of purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Building trusted relationships with students to provide stability and support
  • Supporting emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Helping students re-engage with learning through positive reinforcement and targeted interventions
  • Acting as a role model and advocate for pupils facing barriers to education
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver tailored support plans

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Be calm, empathetic, and consistent in challenging situations
  • Have experience working with or supporting young offenders or those at risk of exclusion
  • Be resilient, proactive, and passionate about helping young people break negative cycles
  • Thrive in a structured yet flexible environment where every day is different
