Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced pay and reward consultant to join our client based in Bristol on a permanent basis.
The ideal Pay and Reward Consultant will contribute to achieving the objectives of the HR and Organisational Development function by providing specialist input and advice on pay reward policies and practices and provide expertise on job evaluation.
The duties of the Pay and Reward Consultant include:
- Reviewing and developing HR policies to ensure clarity, fairness and compliance with employment legislation
- Providing guidance on complex HR casework, including conduct, performance and attendance
- Supporting organisational projects requiring HR or policy expertise, particularly those shaping workforce culture
- Acting as a key HR link with managers and colleagues to promote consistent and fair people practices
- Contributing to learning resources and training that enhance people‑management capability
- Leading and supporting job evaluation activity, ensuring roles are assessed fairly and consistently
- Advising managers on role design, grading outcomes and job evaluation processes
- Supporting the maintenance and development of job evaluation frameworks and documentation
- Using role and workforce data to inform pay, grading and organisational decisions
The Pay and Reward Consultant will ideally have:
- Experience of working in a similar role within Local Government
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience in the use of NJC or GLPC job evaluation
- Knowledge of current trends in pay and reward practice
- Knowledge and understanding of employment and equalities legislation that applies to pay and reward
The Pay and Reward Consultant will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
