Our client, a leading specialist in buildings, structures and infrastructure, is seeking  a Payroll Administrator to join their growing payroll team based in Horsham. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy payroll function supporting a large and diverse workforce while contributing to ongoing business growth and transformation projects. 

About the Role

As a Payroll Administrator, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with UK payroll legislation. 

Working within a collaborative team environment, you'll be responsible for managing your own payrolls, processing employee changes, resolving payroll queries and carrying out essential payroll validations and reconciliations. 

This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-volume payroll environment supporting approximately 4,000 employees and multiple business units. 

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll administration
• Processing starters, leavers and employee changes
• Managing statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
• Payroll validation and reconciliation activities
• Processing payroll amendments and adjustments
• Responding to payroll queries
• Ensuring compliance with current UK payroll legislation
• Maintaining accurate payroll records
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and payroll projects
• Working across multiple payroll cycles and deadlines 

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Strong experience within a payroll position
• Proven end-to-end payroll administration experience
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation
• Experience processing high volumes of payroll transactions
• Payroll reconciliation and validation experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
