Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Payroll Delivery Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the Government, Healthcare & Education payroll teams, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll services.
Job Overview
This role is responsible for leading the Government, Healthcare & Education fortnightly payroll teams and ensuring the successful delivery of an accurate, compliant, and timely payroll service. The Payroll Delivery Manager will act as a key escalation point for business unit customers while maintaining high levels of operational performance and service delivery.
Working closely with the Head of Payroll Service and Delivery, the successful candidate will support payroll compliance, oversee service standards, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive continuous improvement across payroll operations. This position requires strong leadership capability, extensive fortnightly payroll knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage resources and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Government, Healthcare & Education fortnightly payroll teams.
- Oversee the accurate and timely delivery of fortnightly payroll services.
- Manage team performance and support ongoing development.
- Plan resources and allocate workloads effectively across the team.
- Oversee payroll controls and ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal processes.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll and business issues.
- Manage SD Worx and key stakeholders, driving service improvements and supporting business continuity.
Person Specification
- Payroll experience, including team management experience.
- Strong fortnightly payroll experience.
- Knowledge of Agenda for Change (AfC).
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel and data management skills.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
