An established professional services business is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join its friendly team and manage a varied portfolio of client payrolls.

This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll practice experience who enjoys working directly with clients and managing multiple payrolls from start to finish.

The role

You’ll be responsible for delivering an accurate, responsive payroll service across a portfolio of clients, while supporting and supervising other members of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Process multiple client payrolls and manage the full payroll cycle
• Liaise directly with clients and resolve payroll queries
• Manage payroll-related billing and debt chasing
• Complete BACS submissions, pensions, statutory payments and year-end procedures
• Handle directors’ NI, CIS and Benefit in Kind calculations
• Ensure payroll legislation and tax requirements are kept up to date
• Manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
• Supervise team members and review their work
• Provide general payroll support and guidance

About you

You’ll have previous payroll practice experience and be comfortable managing multiple payrolls for different clients.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience in a payroll bureau, accountancy practice or similar environment
• Strong end-to-end UK payroll knowledge
• Experience managing multiple payrolls simultaneously
• Knowledge of PBIK / Benefits in Kind
• Good understanding of statutory payments, pensions, CIS and year-end
• Strong client-facing communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• Previous Payrite experience would be useful, but training can be provided
