Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered We're recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a friendly and well-established business in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with payroll bureau or practice experience who enjoys managing multiple client payrolls in a varied role. The Role You'll be responsible for processing a portfolio of weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK payroll legislation. Key duties include:
- Processing end-to-end payrolls for multiple clients.
- Submitting RTI returns to HMRC.
- Administering Auto Enrolment pensions.
- Processing starters, leavers, P45s, P60s, SSP and SMP.
- Preparing payroll reports and journals.
- Responding to client queries and liaising with HMRC and pension providers.
- Supporting year-end payroll processes and maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
- Experience managing multiple client payrolls.
- Good knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Experience using payroll software such as Paycircle, BrightPay, Sage Payroll or IRIS.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Up to £30,000 FTE depending on experience.
