Starfyn Recruitment are looking to recruit an exceptional Qualified PE Teacher (QTS) for their specialist school in West Drayton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking specialist provision supporting young people aged 11–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. If you're passionate about using sport to inspire confidence, build resilience and improve wellbeing, this could be the perfect next step in your teaching career.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and Post-16.
- Adapting lessons to meet individual EHCP outcomes and SEMH needs.
- Creating a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Using sport and physical activity to develop confidence, emotional regulation and teamwork.
- Promoting positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement and relationship-based practice.
- Supporting extracurricular sport and enrichment activities.
- Working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every student.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching PE within mainstream, SEN or Alternative Provision settings.
- A passion for supporting young people with SEMH and additional needs.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management built on positive relationships.
- An understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches, or a willingness to develop these skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A resilient, proactive and compassionate approach to teaching.
