Contract: Maternity Cover (September 2026 – July 2027)
Pay: £168 – £260 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join the school from September 2026 on a maternity cover basis through to July 2027.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality PE lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring participation, confidence, and a lifelong interest in physical activity. You will be part of a supportive and well-established PE department that values inclusive practice and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Inspire students to take part in a wide range of physical activities and sports
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress through effective feedback
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Contribute to extracurricular sport and wider school activities
  • Uphold the school’s values of respect, resilience, and personal achievement

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Physical Education or a related subject
  • Experience teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum
  • Effective behaviour management and communication skills
  • Commitment to supporting students’ physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing
