We are recruiting on behalf of a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking a dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join their vibrant and successful team from September 2026.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop a lifelong appreciation for sport, fitness and healthy living.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality PE lessons
  • Teaching a broad and balanced Physical Education curriculum
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress
  • Creating a positive and motivating learning environment
  • Encouraging participation, teamwork and personal development
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour and achievement
  • Supporting extracurricular sports activities and school competitions where appropriate
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance outcomes for students

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
  • Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for Physical Education
  • Be capable of inspiring and motivating students of all abilities
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Have a commitment to raising standards and student achievement
  • Be an enthusiastic and positive team player

Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed and fully encouraged.
