Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Sunderland from September 2026 until April 2027.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for a passionate Physical Education specialist who enjoys creating engaging lessons and encouraging students of all abilities to develop their skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for sport. The successful candidate will join a committed department and play a key role in delivering high-quality PE provision across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The school prides itself on providing a positive and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their best both academically and personally. • Deliver engaging and well-structured PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Teach a variety of practical sports and theoretical PE content
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum expectations
• Monitor student progress and provide support to help learners achieve their potential
• Promote teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a safe learning environment
• Support the wider PE department and contribute to extracurricular activities where required

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Physical Education within a UK secondary school
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A passion for sport and inspiring young people
• Ability to deliver engaging lessons to students of varying abilities
• Two professional references covering the last two years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A reliable, flexible, and professional approach to teaching
