PE Teaching Assistant / Sports Coach – SEMH School

Luma Education Recruitment are working with a welcoming and supportive SEMH school in Warwick who are looking for an enthusiastic and active Sports Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Sports Coach, PE graduate, Teaching Assistant, youth worker or someone with a strong interest in sport and supporting young people. You will combine classroom support with PE, sports and practical activities, using your interests and coaching skills to help pupils develop confidence, engagement and independence.

The Role

• Support pupils across the school with learning and development
• Assist with PE, sports and physical activities
• Use sport and practical activities to engage and motivate pupils
• Support pupils with Maths, English and general classroom learning
• Build positive relationships and encourage confidence and independence
• Support 1:1 and small group activities
• Work alongside teachers and the wider support team

About You

We welcome applications from Sports Coaches, PE graduates, Teaching Assistants, LSAs, youth workers, mentors and candidates with relevant experience working with children or young people.

You will ideally be:

• Passionate about sport, physical activity and working with young people
• Interested in coaching and helping pupils develop new skills
• Positive, patient and encouraging
• Confident leading or supporting sports and practical activities
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Reliable, adaptable and a strong team player
