Salary - £32,500 per annum

Working hours – 8am – 5pm - Monday to Friday
Must be Hampshire based but role is predominantly remote

Are you an organised, proactive People & Operations Assistant who loves keeping things moving, chasing actions and making sure nothing gets missed? Workshop Recruitment is supporting a well-established organisation seeking a dependable People & Operations Assistant to work closely with a senior People and Operations leader.

This is a predominantly remote role, but you must live within approximately 30 minutes of Portsmouth for occasional in-person meetings.

The People & Operations Assistant will provide hands-on administration, coordination and follow-through across People, compliance and business operations. If you take pride in being the person who gets things done, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide trusted day-to-day support to a senior People and Operations leader.
  • Manage incoming queries, redirecting or escalating them where appropriate.
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviews and new starter on-boarding.
  • Support payroll, timesheets, training and DSE administration.
  • Maintain People, compliance and data protection records and deadlines.
  • Coordinate data subject requests and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Prepare operational information, reports and metrics accurately.
  • Support equipment, communications, meeting arrangements and general administration. 

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • At least 2 years' successful remote-working experience.
  • Strong hands-on operational administration and People/HR administration experience is essential
  • 1 years previous EA/PA experience
  • Private home-working room and own laptop required for confidential calls and work
  • Experience with GDPR, payroll, recruitment, HRIS, compliance or operational reporting would be advantageous
  • Excellent organisation, accuracy and follow-through.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365, spreadsheets and data.
  • Comfortable chasing people and managing recurring tasks.
  • Excellent discretion, judgement and understanding of GDPR. 


The People & Operations Assistant will work 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour unpaid lunch. The role is initially temporary through Workshop Recruitment, with potential to become permanent subject to business requirements and mutual fit.
