People & Culture Manager

TEAM

When a business is growing quickly, strong HR foundations can make the difference between simply keeping pace and building something that performs for the long term. As the People & Culture Manager, you’ll have the influence and autonomy to improve performance, strengthen management capability and shape how a successful privately owned business develops.

This is a newly created position within an organisation employing around 100 staff across the North of the UK. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the management team, you’ll take ownership of the HR agenda while introducing practical processes that support continued growth.

A 30-hour part-time arrangement is also available. Hybrid working is offered, with a Wetherby base and travel to the East Midlands office as required.

What’s in it for you
  • Salary of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Bonus scheme alongside your base salary
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme and hybrid working arrangements
  • Genuine influence as part of the management team, working directly with senior leadership
  • Scope to build and improve HR processes rather than simply inherit established ways of working
Your responsibilities as People & Culture Manager
  • Introduce practical performance management, appraisal, one-to-one and KPI frameworks that improve accountability and results
  • Coach managers throughout the employee lifecycle, strengthening their ability to handle day-to-day employment matters effectively
  • Provide hands-on employee relations advice and manage more complex workplace issues
  • Improve HR policies, processes and systems to provide the structure needed for continued organisational growth
  • Support recruitment, engagement and organisational development while identifying opportunities to strengthen performance
  • Mentor and develop the existing HR administrator while acting as a credible HR partner to the management team
What we’re looking for in a People & Culture Manager
  • Strong generalist HR experience gained within an HR management, business partnering or comparable senior HR position
  • Demonstrable employee relations knowledge, including the ability to advise managers on complex employment matters
  • Experience introducing or improving performance management, appraisal and KPI frameworks
  • Evidence of coaching and influencing managers while improving management capability
  • Experience operating independently within an SME or developing HR environment, with the ability to build effective processes with limited existing infrastructure
If you want the freedom to improve how HR operates, influence senior decision-making and see the impact of your work across a growing business, apply today for the People & Culture Manager position.
