Location: Saddler House, Bishop Auckland

This will be your main base; however, there is an expectation to travel to other services across County Durham to provide operational support when required.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with occasional evening work and Saturday mornings required on a rota basis.

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240 per annum

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coordinator to join our County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service, working within the Sustained Recovery Team and supporting the Recovery Academy Durham (RAD) programme.

The Recovery Academy Durham is a structured 12-week abstinence-based programme designed to support people in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery. Through evidence-based psychosocial interventions and activities centred around the Five Ways to Wellbeing, you'll help people build confidence, resilience and the skills needed to sustain positive change.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you'll work directly with people affected by drug and alcohol use, supporting them throughout every stage of their recovery journey. You'll manage your own caseload, carrying out assessments, developing personalised recovery plans and delivering ongoing keywork interventions that empower individuals to achieve their goals.

In addition to delivering the RAD programme, you'll provide flexible operational support across the Sustained Recovery Team. This includes covering staff absences, supporting caseloads across different locations, helping to reduce waiting times and ensuring continuity of care for the people we support.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, families and carers, you'll help create a positive, inclusive and therapeutic environment where people feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting change.

What you'll be doing

You'll:

• Deliver the Recovery Academy Durham (RAD) pathways and interventions, ensuring programmes are engaging, evidence-based and person-centred.
• Deliver a comprehensive psychosocial programme alongside activities that promote the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
• Manage a caseload of service users, reviewing ongoing care plans and coordinating treatment throughout their recovery journey.
• Complete assessments, risk assessments and safeguarding processes.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families and partner agencies to support sustained recovery.
• Promote an inclusive, therapeutic environment where participation, engagement and feedback are encouraged.
• Provide operational support across County Durham services by covering absences, supporting caseloads and helping reduce waiting lists.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to high-quality service delivery.

As this role supports multiple sites across County Durham, you'll need to be willing to travel between services when required. A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
