£830 per week + overtime | Permanent | Walsall / West Midlands

This is a permanent local position, mainly working around Walsall and the West Midlands in schools, council properties and other commercial buildings.

The aim is simple: do a good day's work, enjoy the job and still have a life outside work.

There are no weekends, no call-outs and no travelling all over the country. The normal hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

The job

You’ll be carrying out the type of work you would expect as a Commercial Gas Engineer:

  • Servicing commercial heating systems
  • Planned maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Commercial boilers and plant rooms
  • Gas pipework
  • Plumbing and mechanical work
  • Commercial catering equipment where required
  • Completing service and compliance records

A large part of the work is in schools and council properties, maintaining commercial heating systems and making sure they are safe and working properly.

An Enhanced DBS is arranged and paid for by the company because of the work carried out in schools.

What you need

  • Commercial Gas qualification – COCN1 or equivalent
  • Experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer
  • Good knowledge of commercial heating systems
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Experience with gas pipework
  • Good plumbing and pipe-fitting skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to work independently and take responsibility for getting the job done properly

Useful but not essential

The following would be useful, but you don't need all of them to apply:

CODC1 / CCCN1 – commercial catering

18th Edition electrical

Welding or pipe welding

Electrical fault finding

Legionella experience

Additional commercial heating qualifications
