Personal Advisor About the Role

As a Personal Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting care experienced young people to develop independence, achieve their goals, and access the services they need to thrive.

Your Main Priorities
  • Carrying out the duties of a Personal Advisor in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000
  • Supporting care leavers living independently within the community
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Working in partnership with housing, education, health, and other agencies to secure the best outcomes possible
  • Supporting pathway planning and helping young people access opportunities in education, employment, and training
  • Advocating for young people and promoting their wellbeing, independence, and resilience
About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children, young people, or care experienced young adults
  • Are passionate about improving outcomes for care leavers
  • Can build effective relationships and communicate confidently with young people and professionals
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Understand the challenges faced by care experienced young people and can provide practical and emotional support
