Personal Care Assistant

Personal Assistant Required – Moreton, Wirral

Purpose of the Role

A caring, reliable Personal Assistant is required to support a 77-year-old lady living in Moreton, Wirral, who has vascular dementia (currently in the middle stage). This role focuses on providing practical support, helping to maintain daily routines, and promoting independence. No personal care is required.

Hours and Pay
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week
Working days and times: To be agreed at interview, with flexibility required to meet the client's daily routine.

Main Duties
The successful applicant will:
Support with waking and preparing clothes for the day.
Prompt and oversee the taking of morning medication.
Drive and accompany the client to their day care service in the morning.
Collect the client from day care and return them home safely.
Return later in the day to prompt and oversee evening medication.
Accompany the client to GP, hospital, or other medical appointments when required.
Provide reassurance, companionship, and support while respecting the client's independence and dignity.

Person Specification
The ideal Personal Assistant will:
Hold a full UK driving license and have access to their own insured vehicle (essential).
Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
Be honest, trustworthy, reliable, and punctual.
Have a caring, patient, and compassionate nature.
Be flexible and enthusiastic in their approach to work.
Be confident working independently and using their own initiative.
Ideally have experience supporting people living with dementia, although this is not essential.

About the Role

The Personal Assistant will work closely with the client, respecting her wishes, listening to her preferences, and supporting her to remain as independent as possible. Building a positive, trusting relationship is an important part of this role.
