Physiotherapy Inpatient Team Lead

37.5 hours per week

We have a vacancy for an experienced dedicated Physiotherapist Team Leader to join our dynamic friendly Physiotherapy team at Springfield Hospital.

Springfield Hospital opened in 1987 and is one of Essex’s leading private hospitals. It is a 64 bedded hospital all with ensuite facilities, with parent and child rooms, a 14 bed Day unit and a high dependency unit. 

An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and dedicated Physiotherapist to lead our in-patient physiotherapy service. The post holder must be enthusiastic, motivated, committed to patient focused care and proven experience in leading a team and orthopaedic services. The post holder will lead the day to day management of the inpatient physiotherapy service, whilst reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager. You must have the ability to organise your own workload alongside managing the in-patient team and weekend roster.

The post holder will be delivering treatment to patients, discharge planning, social care referrals, pre admission and working closely with the MDT, consultants and external customers. The inpatient service requires cover from 0800-1800 Monday to Friday and weekends.

The post holder will deliver an outstanding level of care whilst considering the needs of the business and coordinating an effective seven-day service. The successful candidate will also be rostered to work weekends.

The physiotherapy department offers a seven-day in-patient service and our workload includes an orthopaedic case load with some surgical and medical patients. The Physiotherapy department also has an outpatient team managing post-operative orthopaedic and general musculo-skeletal caseloads, pelvic health service, paediatrics and vestibular rehabilitation. We have seven treatment rooms with air conditioning and a well-equipped gym.

What you’ll bring with you

•    HCPC and CSP registered

•    Experience in leadership and promote innovation and improvement

•    Excellent knowledge of orthopaedics with experience of respiratory care and discharge planning

•    Ability to organise and prioritise independently

•    Ability to maintain judgement under pressure

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•    Experience in clinical audits and utilise outcome tools

•    Ability to demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning processes

•    Excellent understanding of CSP Standards of Physiotherapy Practice and Rules of Professional Conduct

•    Work within the governance framework of the hospital and comply with regulatory standards (CQC)

•    An understanding of the Private sector would be an advantage

•    The successful candidate will be flexible and able to work weekend shifts as required to meet the needs of the hospital.
