Pipe Fabricator

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading engineering business to recruit a skilled Pipe Fabricator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality pipework, enjoys working from detailed engineering drawings, and thrives on delivering precision fabrication for a range of industrial projects.

37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm)

Hourly Rate:

£19.48 per hour

Responsibilities of a Pipe Fabricator:

• Fabricating and assembling carbon steel and stainless steel pipework to engineering drawings and isometric drawings.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs and welding symbols.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, preparing and fitting pipework to specification.
• Preparing pipe ends, bevelling, grinding and dressing materials ready for welding.
• Using pipe bending, rolling and fabrication equipment to manufacture pipe assemblies.
• Tack welding pipework and components prior to final coded welding.
• Fabricating pipe supports, brackets, manifolds and associated pipework assemblies.
• Producing high-quality fabrication in line with BS EN ISO 9001, ASME IX, BS EN, CE and customer specifications.
• Carrying out dimensional checks to ensure pipework is manufactured to the correct tolerances.
• Operating workshop equipment safely, including grinders, pipe preparation equipment, overhead cranes and forklifts (LOLER compliant).
• Working on industrial pipework systems, storage tanks and associated engineering projects to API and EEMUA standards.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety throughout the fabrication process.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Pipe Fabricator or Pipefitter/Fabricator role.
• Strong understanding of API and EEMUA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, isometric drawings and P&IDs.
• Proven experience fabricating carbon steel and stainless steel pipework.
• Experience with pipe preparation, pipe fitting and mechanical assembly.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects.
• Able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Additional Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Flexibility to work both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Ability to travel and stay away from home when projects require.
