Murphy is looking for an experienced Pipefitter to join our fabrication workshop in Leeds. The successful candidate will have experience in pipe fabrication and assembly, with the ability to interpret isometric drawings, fabricate pipe spools, fit-up pipework and support safe, high-quality project delivery.
What your day will include:
- Working in a fabrication workshop environment.
- Fabricating carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework.
- Building pipe spools from isometric drawings.
- Fitting and tack welding pipework ready for welding.
- Experience with flange alignment, branch connections and pipe supports.
- Familiarity with pipe cutting bevel preparation and assembly techniques
- Measuring and marking out.
- Pipe alignment and fit-up.
- Use of workshop fabrication equipment.
- Dimensional checking of completed spools.
- Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality requirements.
What we need from you:
- Relevant apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting/Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Gas transmission - Desirable
- Oil & Gas - Desirable
- Petrochemical - Desirable
- Energy infrastructure projects - Desirable
- Experience using dimensional verification software such as Automet – Desirable
- Forklift, overhead crane or lifting operations awareness. – Desirable
