An exciting Planner opportunity has arisen to join a leading, independent Civil Engineering contractor delivering over £115M in transformative Infrastructure, Coastal, Energy, and Utility projects. As a key member of our driven and professional pre-construction team, you won't just track schedules, you will take true ownership, shape critical outcomes, and directly influence project success from day one.

In this pivotal role as Planner, you will take full responsibility for developing, managing, and monitoring robust project programmes. Working closely alongside operational, commercial, and client teams, you will turn strategy into execution, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in strict accordance with contractual requirements. This post offers real autonomy to influence multi-million-pound schemes within a stable, ambitious, and highly collaborative environment.

As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Programme Management: Develop and maintain realistic, contractually compliant construction schedules that align with real-world site delivery requirements.
  • Contract Administration: Produce and maintain NEC3/NEC4 programmes for formal submission, client acceptance, and ongoing project reporting.
  • Progress & Risk Control: Track site progress, identify potential delays early, and collaborate with project teams to implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Commercial Support: Assess compensation events and schedule impacts to support contractual claims, while advising commercial teams on resource and cost planning.
  • Pre-Construction & Tendering: Develop competitive tender programmes and provide key strategic input during pre-construction phases.
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership: Build strong relationships with clients and site teams, deliver clear updates and forecasts, and mentor junior planners to strengthen the wider team.

Our client requires a Planner with:

  • Industry Experience: Proven track record as a P6 or MS Project Planner within civil engineering, infrastructure, or major construction projects.
  • Lifecycle Programme Ownership: Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and monitor project schedules from early pre-construction through to final completion.
  • Delivery & Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of construction methodologies, delivery workflows, and end-to-end programme management principles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: History of working seamlessly alongside operational, commercial, and client teams to drive positive project outcomes.
  • Communication & Mindset: Excellent communication skills paired with a proactive, self-driven, and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Leadership & Drive: Strong inclination to take full accountability, work collaboratively across teams, and champion continuous process improvement.

Location: This role will be primarily based out of our clients’ offices in Bridgend but will require travel to projects.

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Benefits: Company car or Car allowance, paid annual leave (exc bank holidays), option to purchase/sell an additional day’s leave, life assurance, company pension plus many more
