Planning Administrator

Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 8am to 4pm, with occasional weekend working 

Location: Leicester, LE3 8JR

The role

As the Planning Administrator working alongside the Demand Planner & Senior Materials Planner you will be responsible for using analytical, marketing, and sales data, to forecast future product demands with the goal of allowing us to optimise our production plans reducing downtown and improve cash flows, stock holding, and service. You will use this data to support you with placing orders on suppliers for ingredients, packaging and consumables to support out manufacturing operations, with an understanding of lead times, stock holding and minimum order quantities.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the Demand Planner maintaining the masterdata for SKUS, creating new SKUS and adjusting BOMs when anything existing is changed.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts and conduct weekly forecast maintenance.
  • Review item forecasts for new, existing, and discontinued products.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Updating various reports and dashboards to help review and maintain the forecast.
  • Place orders for factory consumables to meet production requirements maintaining minimum safety stock levels.
  • Assisting with the ordering of ingredients and packaging.
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries.
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
  • Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis.
  • Any other administrative tasks as required

About You:

What we’re looking for:

  • 3 years + experience as a Demand Planner or a similar role – Essential.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures - Essential.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge – Essential.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment – Essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Essential.
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes – Essential.
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including Excel – Essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Sage 200 - Advantageous.
