Planning Coordinator

Havant

£29,500 – £32,000 per annum

Monday – Friday | 7:30am – 4:30pm

We are recruiting for a Planning Coordinator to join a busy utilities and infrastructure contractor based in Havant.

This is a fast-paced, heavily administrative role working closely with operational and site teams to make sure works are properly planned, permits are in place and jobs can go ahead as scheduled.

You do not need to come from a water background. We are much more interested in finding someone organised, proactive and confident who is comfortable working in a busy operational environment and isn't afraid to pick up the phone, chase information and keep things moving.

The role will include:

  • Planning and scheduling works across a busy operational programme
  • Raising and managing Streetworks permits
  • Liaising with councils, highway authorities and operational teams
  • Ensuring jobs are correctly recorded, resourced and allocated
  • Monitoring permits, notices, deadlines and work statuses
  • Communicating permit conditions and restrictions to site teams
  • Keeping systems and records accurate and up to date
  • Producing progress and compliance reports
  • Chasing outstanding information from internal teams
  • Highlighting potential permit issues, overruns or delays before they become a problem

What we're looking for:

Previous planning, coordination, administration or project support experience would be ideal.

Streetworks or permit knowledge would be a big advantage, particularly if you have experience raising permits or working with local authorities. Experience using Aurora, Street Manager, Symology or similar systems would also be beneficial.

However, water industry experience isn't essential and we would happily consider someone from utilities, highways, telecoms, construction, infrastructure or another fast-moving operational environment.

More importantly, you'll need to be:

  • Highly organised and comfortable managing a busy workload
  • Confident dealing with site and operational teams
  • Proactive rather than waiting for information to come to you
  • Comfortable chasing people and asking for what you need
  • Strong administratively with good attention to detail
  • IT confident, including Microsoft Office
  • Able to work to deadlines and manage several priorities at once

This would suit someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy operation and takes satisfaction from keeping jobs organised and moving forward.
