Planning Manager – Energy Performance Contracts (EPC)

Location: Leeds, LS1 4DT
Salary: £85,000 + Package

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead and oversee planning activities across a portfolio of EPC, decarbonisation and infrastructure projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Design and Delivery teams, you will take ownership of project programmes, drive planning strategy, identify delivery risks and provide leadership and planning expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and management of logic-linked, resource and cost-loaded programmes from tender through to completion.

  • Oversee planning activities and ensure programmes accurately reflect project scope, sequencing and delivery requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, critical path activities and overall programme performance.

  • Produce and oversee programme updates, forecasts and recovery plans.

  • Support NEC3/NEC4 contract administration and compensation events.

  • Lead programme review meetings and provide planning leadership across multiple projects.

  • Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Design and Delivery teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Drive planning best practice and ensure consistency across project programmes.

  • Provide guidance and support to planners and wider project teams.

Requirements

Essential

  • Extensive planning experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or building services.

  • Previous experience operating at Planning Manager, Lead Planner or Senior Planner level.

  • Strong knowledge of Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6.

  • Experience with critical path analysis, programme reporting and NEC3/NEC4 contracts.

  • Strong understanding of project controls, risk management and programme governance.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to oversee planning activities across multiple projects and workstreams.

Desirable

  • Experience within Energy Performance Contracting (EPC), M&E or decarbonisation projects.

  • Project Controls, Earned Value Management or Power BI experience.

  • APM Planning & Scheduling or PMI-SP qualification.
