- Support key contracts at senior level, working with operational, commercial, and project teams to track progress, manage risk, and plan recovery where needed.
- Shape planning input for tenders, interpreting documentation, developing methodology, and contributing to strong programme submissions.
- Own programme reporting and analysis, making sure progress updates, weekly reporting, and programme data are clear and actionable.
- Act as the escalation point for planning issues, building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders and influencing outcomes through clear insight.
- Maintain planning systems and controls, including the Primavera P6 central database and associated planning documentation.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of planners, managing performance, supporting recruitment, and driving continuous professional development.

- Strong leadership capability, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a planning team.
- Strong technical planning expertise, with the ability to produce, review, and challenge complex programmes across civil and electrical infrastructure works.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a practical and analytical approach to delays, risk, and recovery.
- Ability to manage stakeholders effectively, building credibility with clients, project teams, and senior colleagues.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how planning supports delivery, contractual obligations, and project outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and take ownership, operating effectively in fast-paced environments.
What you'll need
- Degree qualified in Civil/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
- Significant experience in a senior planning role within civil or electrical engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or related contracting environments.
- Relevant civil or electrical project experience within the power sector, including works such as substation design and build and cable route installations.
- Experience on projects up to 400kV is highly relevant, though candidates with experience up to 132kV are also encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is required.
- Previous line management experience and the ability to lead a team effectively would be strongly beneficial for success in this role.
What you'll receive
- A chance to join a well-established provider of integrated utility infrastructure solutions with a strong reputation across the UK, Europe, and beyond.
- The opportunity to take on a senior management role with real influence over planning standards, team development, and project success.
- Mentoring and coaching programmes to help your ongoing professional development.
- Ongoing technical and business training to help you grow in the role.
- A hybrid working pattern.
- 28 days’ holiday excluding bank holidays.
