Our plant hire fleet is replaced every 12 – 18 months, ensuring customers are always hiring machines that are modern, efficient, and reliable. At FTH Hire Group we want our wealth of experience to work for our customers, and we provide a personal service, backed by detailed technical and safety advice.

We currently have a requirement for a Plant Fitter to be based out of our Reading Depot and be responsible for:

  • Repairing, servicing and maintaining all tools and powered access equipment including electrical and hydraulic repairs, along with petrol and diesel engines.
  • Occasionally attend breakdowns off site if required
  • Working as part of a team in a workshop environment
  • PAT Testing desirable
  • Completing any relevant repair and service paperwork.  You will need to be computer literate for this.
  • To participate in training programmes as required
     

Skills

Previous experience in repairing plant hire equipment and powered access machinery is essential.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in similar industry, strong communication and organisational skills and be able to manage their own time.

You will work well under pressure, have the ability to prioritise tasks and solve the problems.  An NVQ or equivalent qualification in plant maintenance is desirable.

Hours - 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday
