Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer

Are you an experienced Plant Fitter or Mechanical Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer to join an established team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, a hands-on approach, and experience working with plant, machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or commercial vehicles.

The Role

Working within a busy workshop environment, you’ll be responsible for keeping a range of plant and machinery operating safely and efficiently.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant and machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Working independently while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.

About You

I’m looking for someone who has proven experience within a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Agricultural Engineer, or similar mechanical role.

You’ll need to be practical, reliable, and confident diagnosing faults and working on a variety of mechanical systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are important, particularly given the fast-paced nature of the workshop.

Key Requirements

• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in a mechanical or Plant Fitter position.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Relevant mechanical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with construction equipment, agricultural machinery, plant, or commercial vehicles.
