Plant Manager

M-Tec Engineering Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation with facilities across the UK and Europe.

Based at the company’s UK manufacturing facility in the Midlands, this is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to take full responsibility for the site’s operational performance. You will lead manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement, process optimisation, waste management and site-wide HSE, whilst playing a key role in shaping the plant’s long-term strategic direction.

The Role

As Plant Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction across the operation, ensuring the plant consistently delivers against its strategic, financial and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

*Providing strategic leadership for manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

*Full responsibility for plant manufacturing and production functions.

*Managing site-wide HSE, quality and operational standards

*Developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with wider corporate and local business objectives.

*Managing plant budgets, costs and capital expenditure projects.

*Driving process improvements, cost reduction and cost-avoidance initiatives.

*Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability.

*Reducing waste and improving overall manufacturing performance.

*Developing robust KPI measurement and reporting systems across production processes.

*Working closely with Process, Maintenance, Quality and Planning teams to maximise plant performance.

*Ensuring OEE and OTIF targets are achieved.

*Driving PPM and TPM activity to support reliable and continuous production.

*Developing and maintaining high standards of 5S, Lean Manufacturing and general housekeeping.

About You

We are looking for an energetic, driven and commercially astute manufacturing leader with the confidence and determination to take ownership of a complex manufacturing operation.

You will ideally have:

*Proven experience in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior manufacturing leadership role.

*Previous P&L and budget responsibility.

*A strong track record of delivering margin improvement, cost reduction and operational efficiencies.

*Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve productivity and minimise waste.

*Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

*Experience managing and developing production and operational teams.

*The ability to develop, empower and motivate people at all levels.

*Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

*Ideally, a degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
