The Role
We are seeking an experienced Plasterer to join our property repairs and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a variety of plastering, rendering, repair and finishing works across both occupied and unoccupied residential properties.
You will be expected to produce consistently high standards of workmanship while working efficiently and respectfully within residents’ homes. Customer service, safety and getting jobs completed correctly first time will be central to the role.
Key Duties
- Complete internal and external plastering and rendering repairs to walls, ceilings and associated surfaces.
- Undertake patch repairs, bonding, skimming and general making-good following works carried out by other trades.
- Assess and prepare surfaces before applying the appropriate plastering materials and finishes.
- Ensure all work is completed to the required specification, quality standards and agreed deadlines.
- Carry out small associated tasks, such as minor tiling, painting, sealing and finishing, where necessary to fully complete a repair.
- Keep job records and provide accurate updates using the company’s mobile technology and reporting systems.
- Work closely with supervisors, scheduling teams and office-based colleagues to ensure repairs are delivered efficiently.
- Comply with all relevant Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments, safe working practices and appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and workmanship when working in customers’ homes.
- Provide guidance and support to apprentices and less experienced colleagues when required.
- Work across a range of residential properties and participate in an emergency or out-of-hours callout rota where necessary.
About You
You will be a competent and experienced plasterer with a strong background in property maintenance or a similar environment. You take pride in producing neat, durable finishes and understand the importance of working considerately in occupied homes.
You will be reliable, organised and able to manage your workload independently, while also working effectively as part of a wider repairs team. A professional approach to customers and colleagues is essential.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3, City & Guilds qualification in Plastering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Demonstrable experience carrying out plastering and associated repairs within a maintenance environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Own, suitable and well-maintained set of tools for the role.
- Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety, including areas such as manual handling and asbestos awareness.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain high standards without constant supervision.
