Plate Welder

Proactive Personnel Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced Plater / Welder for our client based in Winsford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join a well-established business, with an immediate start available and the potential for a long-term position.

Pay Rate: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

To be considered for this role, you must be a time-served Plater / Welder with experience working from engineering drawings and carrying out fabrication, plating, and welding duties to a high standard. Experience within heavy engineering environments such as structural steelwork, pressure vessels, shipbuilding, or heavy plate fabrication is highly desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to:

• Carry out high-quality MIG and/or MMA welding
• Mark out, prepare, assemble, and fit steel components
• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Fabricate and assemble structural steelwork and heavy plate components
• Work on pressure vessels, shipbuilding projects, and bespoke fabrication work
• Carry out heavy plate fabrication to precise specifications
• Operate workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
• Work independently and to tight tolerances
• Maintain high quality and safety standards within the workshop

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Plater / Welder
• Strong background in heavy plate fabrication, structural steelwork, shipbuilding, or pressure vessel fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent in MIG and/or MMA welding processes
• Experience with fabrication, assembly, and fitting of heavy steel components
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Reliable with a positive work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 3:00pm
