Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting for:

We are looking for a Plater for a permanent position based with our client in Scunthorpe

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rates of are:

• Basic rate is £21.03
• Overtime 1 rate is £29.44
• Overtime 2 rate is £37.85

This will be working 38 hours a week at basic pay and overtime available.

The successful candidate will be working within a busy engineering and fabrication environment, carrying out the preparation, fabrication and assembly of steel components and structures to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Mark out, measure and prepare steel plate and structural components.
• Cut, shape and form materials using appropriate tools and machinery.
• Carry out platework and structural fabrication.
• Fit and assemble components accurately prior to welding.
• Prepare materials and components for welding and fabrication.
• Use oxy-fuel cutting equipment and other workshop machinery.
• Work with carbon steel and various thicknesses of plate.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and dimensional standards.
• Carry out visual inspections and ensure components meet drawing specifications.
• Work closely with Welders, Fabricators and other members of the engineering team.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Follow all company health & safety procedures and site requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Plater / Fabricator Plater within an engineering or heavy fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong experience in marking out, cutting, fitting and fabrication.
• Experience working with structural steel and platework.
• Ability to use hand tools and workshop machinery safely.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Relevant engineering/fabrication qualifications would be advantageous.
• Ideally have experience working within a heavy engineering or industrial environment.
