Before & After School Club Playworker - BL2, Bolton

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Before & After School Club Playworker to support a welcoming primary school in the BL2 area of Bolton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with primary-aged children in a fun, engaging and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality wraparound care before and after the school day, ensuring children feel safe, happy and supported while taking part in a range of exciting activities.

Whether you have previous experience working in a school, childcare setting, holiday club or nursery, or you're looking to build your career within education, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Before & After School Club Playworker, you'll help create a positive atmosphere where children can relax, socialise and enjoy a variety of creative, educational and physical activities. You'll work closely with the wider school team to ensure every child has a positive experience.



Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising children before and after the school day in a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Planning and delivering a range of fun, age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play and themed sessions.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children's social and emotional development.
  • Preparing and serving light snacks while following food hygiene procedures.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
  • Supporting children with differing needs to ensure an inclusive environment.
  • Following school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour policies.
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents and school staff.
  • Assisting with setting up and tidying away equipment each session.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
  • A friendly, patient and approachable manner.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • A flexible and reliable approach to work.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
