Plumber/Heat Pump Installer

We are seeking a skilled, forward-thinking Lead Plumber/ Heating Engineer with dedicated experience in Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) to join our growing team. In this role, you will handle traditional plumbing and heating systems while leading the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of clean-energy heat pump systems. Key Responsibilities
Renewable Energy & ASHP Duties:

Installation: Correctly size, install, and configure Air Source Heat Pump units (monobloc and split systems) alongside relevant cylinders and buffer tanks.

Commissioning: Test and commission ASHP systems to ensure maximum seasonal efficiency (SCOP) and compliance with manufacturer guidelines.

System Upgrades: Assess existing heating systems and upgrade pipework, radiators, or underfloor heating to ensure compatibility with lower-temperature heat pump outputs.

Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair mechanical or hydraulic faults within renewable heating systems.
General Plumbing Duties:

Install, repair, and maintain standard domestic/commercial plumbing systems (sanitaryware, drainage, pipework).

Fit and maintain traditional heating components, including unvented hot water cylinders and heating controls.

Ensure all work complies with current building regulations and safety standards.

Provide excellent customer service, explaining how new renewable systems operate to homeowners.
Required Skills & Experience

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years as a qualified plumber, experience with air source heatpumps is desireable but not essential

Air Source Heat Pump level 3 qualification or equivelant (esential)

G3 (desirable)

Water regs (desirable)

Gas Safe (desirable)

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent (desirable)

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (desirable)
