An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plumber to join the engineering team in Stratford. This is a static site-based role responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a modern educational and research facility.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all plumbing and mechanical systems are maintained to a high standard, supporting the safe and efficient operation of the campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing and associated mechanical systems.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and plumbing repairs in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on domestic water systems, drainage systems, sanitary ware, and pipework.
  • Carry out repairs, replacements, and minor installation works.
  • Monitor and maintain hot and cold water systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, statutory regulations, and site policies.
  • Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and reports accurately using CAFM systems.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, staff, subcontractors, and site stakeholders.
  • Support other engineering disciplines where required.
  • Participate in the on-call rota if required.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within a commercial building environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
