Plumbing & Heating Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join a well-established and growing business, working across residential and light commercial properties throughout Northamptonshire.

This is predominantly a maintenance and fault-finding position, so we are looking for a Plumbing & Heating Engineer with strong diagnostic skills who can assess systems logically, identify faults accurately and carry out effective repairs.

As a Plumbing & Heating Engineer, you will be responsible for reactive maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repairs across plumbing, heating and domestic gas systems.

Heating work will include:

  • Boiler diagnostics, servicing and repairs
  • Domestic gas appliances
  • Zone valves, pumps and expansion vessels
  • Heating controls
  • Vented and unvented cylinders
  • Underfloor heating diagnostics
  • System pressure and water-quality issues
  • Heat pump diagnostics, servicing and repairs

Plumbing work will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing leaking taps, mixers and cartridges
  • Shower fault-finding, including thermostatic, pressure and temperature issues
  • Toilet repairs including flush valves, inlet valves, syphons and ball valves
  • Investigating visible and concealed leaks
  • Pipework alterations and remedial upgrades
  • Diagnosing hot and cold water pressure and flow issues
  • Clearing waste-pipe blockages to basins, showers, baths and kitchens

Some installation work may occasionally be required; however, this Plumbing & Heating Engineer position is primarily focused on maintenance, diagnostics and fault-finding.

The successful Plumbing & Heating Engineer will ideally have:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing/Heating
  • Current domestic gas ACS qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' reactive maintenance experience
  • Strong plumbing and heating diagnostic/fault-finding skills
  • Experience servicing and repairing domestic heating systems
  • Ability to work independently and diagnose faults logically
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own hand tools
  • Professional and customer-focused approach

The engineer will be registered under the company's Gas Safe registration.

Salary & Benefits
