Salary: Up to £40,814 per annum + £5,500 Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week



The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plumbing & Heating Engineering Lecturer to join a well-established Further Education provider.

This role would suit either an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into education. You'll deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing & Heating programmes, helping learners develop the technical skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed within the industry.

Working across full-time study programmes and apprenticeships, you'll combine practical workshop delivery with classroom-based learning, ensuring learners are equipped with current industry standards and best practice.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Plumbing & Heating lessons
  • Teach and assess learners across full-time and apprenticeship programmes
  • Support students to develop industry-standard skills and safe working practices
  • Embed current regulations, legislation and sustainability principles into delivery
  • Monitor learner progress and provide timely feedback
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and safeguarding
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement


Requirements

  • Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing
  • Gas competency
  • Industry experience within Plumbing & Heating Engineering
  • Assessor and IQA qualifications desirable, or willingness to work towards them
  • Strong knowledge of current industry standards and regulations
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting others
  • Teaching qualification desirable but not essential, with support available to achieve one
