  • Encourage communication through a range of approaches, including AAC, symbols, objects of reference and sensory communication, where appropriate.

  • Support pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility needs in a respectful and dignified manner.

  • Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals.

  • Observe and record pupils' progress and contribute to their individual targets.

  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence and participation in school life.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, compassionate and nurturing, with a genuine desire to support pupils with complex needs.

  • Positive, enthusiastic and willing to learn.

  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

  • A good communicator and team player.

  • Resilient, adaptable and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.

Previous experience of working with pupils with PMLD, SEND or complex needs is desirable, but training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

What we can offer
  • A supportive and welcoming team.

  • High-quality training and professional development.

  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced teaching and therapy professionals.

  • A rewarding role where you can see the difference you make every day.

  • A positive, inclusive environment where every pupil is valued and celebrated.

If you are passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs and would like to be part of a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.
