Our client West Midlands Police are looking for proactive and dedicated Police Staff Investigating Officers to join their busy Investigation Teams across various locations within the West Midlands area. With a focus on protecting the most vulnerable in society, you will play a critical role in investigating sensitive cases that include physical and sexual violence, as well as online offences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and gather evidence from a variety of sources, ensuring all material is admissible and supports the investigative process.
  • Engage with child victims sensitively and effectively to gather evidence while providing them with the necessary support.
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses, victims, and suspects, adhering to PIP2 standards to uncover new lines of inquiry.
  • Participate in multi-agency decision-making and risk assessments to enhance the safety and support for victims.
  • Share information about additional services and explain criminal justice procedures to families and victims, ensuring they have access to all available support.
  • Analyse evidence from child abuse investigations to identify offenders and prevent future crimes.
  • Manage case files and prepare reports, maintaining an accurate audit trail of investigations.
  • Initiate discussions for multi-agency arrangements when criminal proceedings are not ongoing to assess ongoing risks.
  • Contribute to multi-agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA) and provide updates on offenders.

What We're Looking For:

  • PIP 2 qualified Investigator
  • A proactive team player with excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, especially when engaging with vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience in investigative work or related fields is a plus, but a passion for justice is essential!
  • The capability to work independently while managing a varied workload.
