- Incorporate signposting and links to relevant government resources and statutory guidance where appropriate.
- Produce a summary document outlining key policy changes and updates.
- Engage with service leads, finance teams, operational managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and validate policy content.
- Ensure all policy documentation is consistent, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives.
- Support the review and approval process by responding to stakeholder feedback and making necessary revisions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience writing, reviewing, or developing policies within the public sector, local government, health, social care, or a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of policy development processes and governance requirements.
- Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse complex legislation, regulations, and guidance and translate these into practical, accessible policy documents.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Experience engaging and collaborating with a range of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timescales.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, particularly the Care Act 2014 and associated charging regulations.
- Previous experience working on financial assessment, charging, or Adult Social Care policy projects.
- Experience within local government or wider public sector organisations..
