Job Title: Port Engineer (Quayside & Hinterland Infrastructure)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of quayside structures including berths, quay walls, fenders, bollards, and mooring systems.
  • Ensure operational readiness of hinterland infrastructure, including storage yards, warehouses, roadways, rail interfaces, and drainage systems.
  • Monitor and maintain port utilities (power distribution, lighting, water systems, and firefighting infrastructure).
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance programs and asset management strategies for all landside and quayside assets.
  • Coordinate contractors and service providers for civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support capital projects, including infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and refurbishment works.
  • Conduct condition assessments and lifecycle analysis to inform investment and maintenance planning.
  • Maintain technical documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records.
  • Assist with commercial tenders and client requests relating to a technical aspect.
  • Provide technical drawings as requested via AutoCAD/dwg or other suitable software.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in port infrastructure, heavy industrial sites, or bulk handling terminals.
  • Strong knowledge of quayside structures, port operations and industrial utilities.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Highly proficient in Autocad/dwg
  • Understanding of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong project management and contractor coordination skills.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and implement practical engineering solutions.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working in ports, terminals, or large-scale logistics/industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of structural inspection techniques (e.g., marine corrosion, concrete degradation).
  • Membership in a recognized engineering institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE, IET).
  • Experience with reliability engineering or condition monitoring technologies.
