Porters Required – Sherburn in Elmet (LS25 6JH)

Our client is looking for Porters to join their home delivery team based in Sherburn in Elmet (LS25 6JH). You will be working alongside a Class 2 HGV driver, assisting with the safe and timely delivery of products directly to customers' homes and other locations.

This is a Temp-to-Perm position, offering the opportunity for the right candidates to secure a permanent role. You will be working Tuesday to Saturday, with 5am starts, and pay rates ranging from £13.09 to £19.64 per hour.

You will typically assist with between 5 and 15 deliveries per day, depending on the route. This is a hands-on role involving the lifting, carrying and movement of goods, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.

A DBS is required

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Assist with approximately 5–15 deliveries per day to customers' homes and other locations.
• Work alongside a Class 2 HGV driver to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle.
• Assist with the safe handling, lifting and movement of goods at delivery locations.
• Provide excellent face-to-face customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Follow safe working practices at all times, ensuring the safety of yourself, your driver and customers.
• Help ensure deliveries are completed accurately and within the expected timeframes.

What you need to succeed:

• A good level of physical fitness, as the role involves regular lifting and handling of goods.
• A valid DBS Certificate
• Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse or manual handling role would be advantageous.
• A positive, flexible attitude towards work and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliability, excellent timekeeping and a professional approach.
• Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday, with 5:00am starts.
