An experienced Poultry Farm Manager is required to take overall responsibility for a large 16-shed broiler site near Milton Keynes, leading the farm team and ensuring consistently high standards across the entire operation.







Poultry Farm Manager - The Job Role Details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of a substantial 16-shed commercial broiler site.

This is a senior, hands-on management position requiring an experienced poultry professional who can confidently take ownership of the site, lead the farm team and ensure the highest standards of bird welfare, production, biosecurity, compliance and health and safety.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the farm throughout the production cycle, from preparation and chick placement through to crop turnaround.

Alongside the practical management of the birds and poultry houses, you will monitor performance closely, maintain accurate records, coordinate staff and contractors and work with veterinary and field support to continually improve results.

With a salary of circa £50,000 and family accommodation available, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager looking to take responsibility for a substantial commercial broiler operation.







Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of a large 16-shed commercial broiler site
  • Lead, manage and coordinate the farm team, ensuring appropriate staffing and allocation of daily duties
  • Maintain excellent standards of bird welfare and husbandry throughout each crop
  • Monitor flock health, behaviour, growth and overall performance
  • Oversee ventilation, feeding, water, temperature and environmental management across the site
  • Review farm performance and identify opportunities to continually improve bird welfare, efficiency and production results
  • Manage crop estimation and maintain accurate production records
  • Oversee preparation of poultry houses, chick placement and crop turnaround procedures
  • Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness and biosecurity are maintained throughout the site
  • Work closely with veterinary professionals and field staff to maintain and improve flock health and performance
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, assurance schemes and company standards
  • Take responsibility for health, safety and environmental procedures across the farm
  • Liaise with external contractors, suppliers and other relevant parties
  • Coordinate farm, building and equipment maintenance requirements
  • Ensure the farm team receives appropriate training and mandatory Poultry Passport requirements are maintained
  • Support, develop and motivate farm staff to achieve consistently high standards
  • Take ownership of the overall standards, presentation and successful performance of the site


Essential Candidate Skills & Experience:

  • Significant previous experience within commercial broiler poultry production
  • Previous experience managing a poultry farm or substantial poultry unit
  • Excellent understanding of bird welfare and flock management
  • Experience monitoring and driving poultry farm performance
  • Strong understanding of farm biosecurity and disease prevention
  • Previous staff supervision or team management experience
  • Ability to lead, motivate and organise a farm team effectively
  • Good record keeping and attention to detail
  • Confident managing contractors, suppliers and other external parties
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence


Desirable:

  • Relevant agricultural or poultry qualification
  • Poultry Passport
  • Tractor experience/licence
  • Telehandler experience/licence
